Korean Buddhist International Network to Host Training for English Dharma Talk Interpreters and Translators at Vairocana International Buddhist Meditation Center

There will be an opportunity for human resource development (HRD) of English translators who will spread the teachings of Korean Buddhism.

Korean Buddhist International Network (KBIN) of International Dharma Propagation Group will hold a "Training for Interpretation and Translation of Dharma Talks" for 15 monks and lay-Buddhists who have been translating and interpreting dharma talks in English at Vairocana International Buddhist Meditation Center from  March 1 to 3. 

The program has been prepared to meet the demand for training in English Buddhist terminologies and communication skills for conveying the Buddhist message from sutras and dharma talks to international audience who wish to learn more about Korean Buddhism.

Simultaneous translator Ms. Hong Yeonju, Head of Lotus Buddhist English Research Institute Mr. Jin Wooki and English Lecturer Mr. Kim Hyeongju of Dongnam Health University will be invited as the instructors of the program.

Ven. Jawoo, the coordinator of the program, expressed her wish that "the program would allow the participants to foster abilities to properly convey the message of dharma talks by the monks in English." She also stated that "Korean Buddhist International Network will continue to provide education programs and create international network to form a foundation for the internationalization of Korean Buddhism.
