The Jogye Order holds an education program for foreigners

An education program for foreign monks residing in Korea was held last March 28 at International Seon Center in

Seoul. This is the second program held since the year 2011. The Jogye Order Director of Social Affairs

Department, Ven. Beop Gwang gave an opening speech, followed by various informative sessions to help the

monks adapt to Korean living. The program began with an Introductory DVD of Korean Buddhism, and then

information on Immigration procedures, and a poll on current activities of foreign monks followed. After the official

program, the group moved on to a theater near Jorge-sa Temple to view a Buddhist documentary by Ven. Jiyul,

“The Sand that Flows with River.”
